Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to share the exciting news that JME has recently been
awarded the 1999 Anbar Golden Page Award for Most Original Content.
On behalf of the current and past editors of JME, particularly Bill Ferris,
Cindi Fukami and Jeff Mello (Associate Editors), I thank all the authors,
reviewers, guest editors, readers, and supporters who have been so
instrumental over the past three decades in making JME a world-class
journal in the management disciplines and the premier journal in the field
of management education.
Let me quote from the description of this prestigious award presented
annually to four outstanding management journals: "The Golden Page
Awards are presented annually to those few, outstanding management
periodicals that consistently deliver excellent articles. Awards are
made for: Best Research Implications, Best Practical Implications, Most
Original Content, and Most Readable Content for all major management
disciplines. To be eligible for a Golden Page Award, a title must first
be selected to be abstracted by Anbar by the Accreditation Board. Our
specialist reviewers then review every published article. The performance
of each title within the calendar year is assessed before an award is made.
The Anbar Accreditation Board is made up of experts from academia and
industry, including Professor Philip Kotler from Northwestern University a
nd Alfred Lynch, CEO of J. C. Penney International. Their judgements are
informed by access to the library holdings of centers of excellence such
as Harvard University and MIT. To be accepted onto the Anbar Accredited
List is in itself a significant achievement. To then emerge from rigorous
review as best in class is a major accolade."

Once again, congratulations to our entire community of dedicated and
inspired management educators and scholars!
