13th Annual Summer Workshop for the Development of
Intercultural Coursework at Colleges and Universities

    July 14-23, 1999

    University of Hawai'i-Manoa

The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER)
at the College of Business Administration, University of Hawai'i-Manoa
is once again sponsoring a Summer Workshop for the Development of
Intercultural Coursework at Colleges and Universities. This program
is geared for college and university faculty in the fields of
international business, psychology, communication, counseling, and
related disciplines, as well as advanced cross-cultural
trainers/managers, and Ph.D. candidates working on their
dissertations. Presentations, discussions, and interactions will
focus on integrating information on culture and cultural diversity
into course offerings. A variety of exercises and demonstrations will
be used to help each participant develop their own syllabi and
identify sources that will enhance and enrich their own cross-cultural
    repertoire.

Professors Harry Triandis, University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign and Richard Brislin, University of Hawaii at Manoa,
are the key workshop leaders, and there will be plenty of
opportunity for participants to interact with them as well as other
    faculty members.

The workshop will be held at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa campus
in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Tuition is $700. Participants are
responsible for covering their own round-trip airfare, housing,
meals, and other personal expenses, including health insurance
coverage. Dormitory housing is available on a first-come
first-served basis at the East-West Center, which shares the grounds
    of the University of Hawai'i. A non-refundable $50 registration
deposit is required to secure a reservation, with the balance due by
June 15, 1999. Because of space limitations, attendance will be
    limited to 40 participants.
