On-Site Quality Improvement Workshops Information
We are pleased to announce that Cornesky & Associates recently received a
renewal of a foundation grant to conduct on-site Total Quality Management
(TQM) / Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) workshops for ten institutions
of higher education. With our consulting fee of $500 per participant being
covered by the grant, we can offer workshops at your institution for travel
expenses and the price of the workshop materials. The travel expenses are
from Greenville, South Carolina. The workshop materials are $30 per
participant. Each workshop is limited to 35 participants.
The two-day, in-depth workshops that have been approved are either classroom
oriented or curriculum building oriented. (The management-oriented workshop
was not approved for this grant cyclesorry.)
I. Classroom Oriented
o Turning CQI Into Classroom Practice: A Collaborative Approach
This workshop introduces faculty to the "systems" approach where the
classroom is examined from the perspectives of four systems: 1)
thought-leader, 2) learning, 3) continuous improvement, and 4) reward. The
workshop also introduces 15 CQI tools and techniques for effective teaching
and assessment.
II. Curriculum Oriented
o How to Use Quality Function Deployment to Build a Curriculum that Meets
the Needs of Your Customers
This workshop is intended to provide faculty with a flexible but disciplined
planning and implementation procedure in which the customer's wants and
needs
are deployed throughout the curriculum of the academic major. The procedure
is known as Quality Function Deployment (QFD). It provides a supporting
system for making sure that customers' wants and needs are sought after and
heard and then incorporated into the processes and systems of the department
courses.
If you are interested in bringing any of these professional development
