I was requested by a client to realise the vision on becoming the
employer of choice. The organization is seeking proactive strategy to create a
Family / Friendly policy which heads towards employer of choice.

Some of the initial ideas include flexible reward package, flexible work
hour, EAP program, leave without pay....

Your advice and ideas on how we can become a more friendly and caring
    employer will be appreciated.

Other ideas on what criteria and programs people use for being the
employer of choice will be helpful too.

Dear Aaron, you might try to find some articles on HR at HP. A couple of
years ago, I was at a small meeting with Lew Platt and he mentioned that
one of HP's strategies was to be the "empoyer of choice" in Silicon Valley.

    Good luck, Kim Boal

All of these things - and many more - are important in trying to become an
Employer of Choice. However, I believe the most challenging but most
important dynamic is the way that employees are actually treated when they
are there. Are they respected? Do they (and the work they do) truly feel
valued? Do they have opportunities to learn and grow? Challenging work?
    Good management?

Many companies now say they are family-friendly - until you have the first
family need and you see the true beliefs come out. I just left such a
company. Make sure you walk your talk as a company.
