    Good morning to all.

I have an opportunity to offer on this bright and sunny morning.

    I have accepted another position.

As a result, the position for Director of Leadership Programs at the
University of Central Florida, is being searched. At the request of my
supervisor, I am posting to lists that might have qualified and
interested candidates. (A search was conducted thru the interview
stage but did not net suitable applicants)

I think members of the list may be interested:

    a. The job encompasses directing and integrating four areas into
a shared leadership focus: LEAD Scholars Program, Student Activities,
    Greek Affairs, and Campus Ministries.

    b. The LEAD Scholars Program is a two year leadership program
provided to 350 competitively selected Freshmen and Sophomores.
Incepted in 1995 by the Provost, it has an annual operating budget of
$150,000 and will grow to $300,000 with its recent approval to double in
size. This program is fairly unique in that faculty from each of the
five colleges comprising UCF provide special leadership courses (thru
the LEAD Scholars Program funding faculty release time) while student
activities provides service learning activities. The Director also
teaches one of the leadership courses. The program also has an emerging
residential learning community component. This is a heavily endowed
    program.

    c. The Student Activities area has innovative programs like the
peer teaching programs of Diversity Consultants and Consultants for
    Effective Leadership (CEL).

    c. UCF is located in Orlando, Florida and is part of the Florida
State University System (SUS). Its enrollment is 30,000 and is growing
at a rate of 2500 students a year.

The ideal candidate must have a firm understanding of student
leadership development, successful freshman and sophomore pedagogies,
and must have enought managerial and/or leadership experience to
successfully integrate the four listed into what operationally amounts
to a leadership center for leadership development on campus.

This job will be re-advertised in the Chronicle (July 9 edition?) or
you can contact me (email - ehampton@mail.ucf.edu - or 407-823-3940) and
I will provide a copy of the ad or answer any questions.

Thank you for considering this opportunity.

    Best wishes.
