Along those lines, an Army Research Institute Technical Report has recently
been completed that looks at the effects of information technology and the
technology insertion process on command. The study begins with a review of the
relevant academic literature and concludes with propositions relating
information technologies' impact on Army commanders and their staffs. The
    technical report's cite follows:

Technology on Battle Command: Lessons From Management Science and Business,
Technical Report 1091, February, 1999. Alexandria, VA.: Army Research
Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences

It is available through the Defense Technical Information Center or (if you
want to avoid the red tape) I would be happy to send you a copy. Please
include a complete snail mail address with your request.
