The QFD institute Germany accomplished different research studies about
success of QFD.
In a case study we measured the success of a pilot project with the SAP AG.
The results were presented on the QFD symposium in Novi (Determining the
Success of a QFD-Project. Proceedings of the Eigth Synmposium on quality
Function Deployment, June 9-11, 1996, Novi, Michigan, the USA, pp. 131-150).
Another contribution can likewise used. This paper describes the results of
a multi firm bench-marking study. Comparing 16 successful and unsuccessful
projects, conclusions can drawn about the relevantly success factors of QFD
projects. The paper can also used for case studies on the success and
failure of QFD. (Success Factors of QFD Projects. Proceedings of 4th
International Symposium on Quality Function Deployment, August 3-5, 1998,
Sydney, Australia, pp. 27-41)

Are you aware of anyone using Quality Function Deployment (i.e. "House of
Quality") as a tool for curriculum development?
If so, references or contact information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
