Nicholas J. Beutell asked for examples of unique development programs.
Using a two-year grant from The McKnight Foundation, our organization
developed a very accessible, low-cost ($15 a person), practical,
peer-based method for development. The method is based on Reginald
Revans' action learning process. We've added a very large, free, on-line
library from which group members can get "course" materials, develop
goals/action plans and mutually support each other to learn through
ongoing support and feedback and reflection. Each member of a group gets
a guidebook to help them organize and operate their own group.
You can view the entire "Guidebook for Facilitator's and Members" at

Guidelines for starting a group are given at

Testimonials from members is at

If you're interested in the theory, it's fully described at

I hope this is useful information.
