In the past few months, there have been a few inquiries and threads
regarding performance consulting, training, critical competencies of HR,
etc. It has been interesting and useful for me to read your comments and
debates as I gather information for a related conference that I am
developing. As you know, today's human resources function is taking on a
new consultative role (which many refer to as "performance consultant")
within the organization. Instead of focusing on short-term, tactical
issues, HR is now focusing on long-term business objectives -- becoming more
of a strategic business partner, change agent, and performance consultant to
other functions in the organization.
