CHALLENGES FOR OUR TOMORROWS:
Coming of Age at MOBTC
The Mid-Atlantic Organizational Behavior Teaching Conference
2007
In March 2007, MOBTC “comes of age,” celebrating its 21st
anniversary. Over the years, interested faculty members of this
region have met to demonstrate the timely, necessary, important
and also fun things about teaching Management and
Organizational Behavior.
“Challenges for Our Tomorrows: Coming of Age at MOBTC” is the
theme of the 2007 MOBTC.
The future - what are the challenges? How do we meet them?
Where are we going? How do we get there? How do we learn from
the past, deal with the present and build toward the future? How
do we make a difference?
We invite you to submit a proposal and/or join a roundtable at
MOBTC 2007.
The conference is about teaching and sharing ideas, about
thoughtful and involving conversations, about collegiality and,
most importantly, about improving our professional effort.
Please share your ideas with us on March 24, 2007 at Drexel
University.
Guidelines for Submission of Presentations
- The primary purpose of the presentation should be for classroom
use. Whenever possible, plan for the active involvement of
participants. In general, proposals should be original and not
under concurrent consideration or scheduled for presentation
elsewhere. If you have questions in the development of your
proposal, please contact a program committee member to discuss
your ideas (Gil Boyer (
gilboyer@verizon.net), Steve Meisel
(
meisel@lasalle.edu), Gayle Porter, (
gporter@camden.rutgers.edu),
Stuart Schmidt, (
Schmidt@temple.edu), Joe Seltzer,
(
seltzer@lasalle.edu), and Joan Weiner (
weinerj@drexel.edu).
- Proposals should be no more than 2-5 pages long. PLEASE keep
to this guideline. Proposals should state: 1) what you will do, 2)
why it is important and what people will learn, 3) how you will do it
(e.g. extent of active involvement of participants), 4) how it relates
to the theme, 5) how long you would prefer (30, 45 or 60 minute
session) and the minimum time needed (we may combine your
session with similar proposals), 6) equipment needed, if any.
Conference rooms are equipped with all the normal presentation
technology but please give an idea of what you are planning and
will need.
Guidelines for Submission for Roundtable Discussion
The Roundtable Discussion starts with a topic (around Challenges
…) and invites people to participate in the discussion. We are
hoping 10-15 people will commit to appear in the program as co-
presenters. The session will begin with each person making a
statement no longer than 1 minute. The remaining time will be a
facilitated discussion.
