The book looks great for executive education.  If you indeed believe that effective leadership requires heart, that eliminates 99 percent of it. Leadership for sustainability, soul, hope and collaboration-you got 'em all!

    Charlie,

A quick note to say hi and to let you know that my new edited book, Business Leadership (2nd edition), is just out from Jossey-Bass.  It's got wonderful contributions from great folks in the field, is reasonably priced for exec ed and student audiences, and comes with assorted instructional support materials for people wanting to use it in their teaching. It's the second book in the Jossey-Bass Reader series that I've done – Organization Development came out over a year ago to very good reviews – and I'm hoping for the same positive response this time around.

FYI, I attach text from the back cover below which includes the list of contributors.  The book is also searchable via the look inside the book function on Amazon.com so you can take a peak at the table of contents and sample the text – and if I can be a blatant marketer, is now being offered at a launch price of more than 50% off cover.

I'd be ever so grateful if you'd pass the word to other colleagues at St. John's and elsewhere whom you think might be interested.

Hope all goes well.    Take care.    J

    From the Back Cover:

"This volume reflects decades of work by multiple individuals to identify common principles of success and the leadership that helps to generate it."

-From the Foreword by Ronald A. Heifetz, author, Leadership Without Easy Answers and coauthor, Leadership on the Line

The second edition of best-selling Business Leadership contains the best thinking on leadership from the biggest names in the business. It offers leaders everything they need to know to prepare for today's-and tomorrow's-leadership challenges: how to understand the leadership process, identify opportunities, get things started right, avoid predictable pitfalls, and maximize success. Effective leaders use mind, heart, and spirit in their work, and this volume is designed to guide and support leaders in their efforts. With an introduction and Editor's Interludes by Joan V. Gallos-editor of the highly praised Organization Development: A Jossey-Bass Reader-the author list for this invaluable resource reads like the who's who of business leadership. A must on every professional bookshelf, this extraordinary collection features contributions from:
