CALL FOR EUROPE-BASED ENGLISH-SPEAKING FACULTY
Dear Colleague,
ESCEM School of Business and Management, in France has now been in existence
for just one year. The merger of two well-established "Grandes Ecoles"; ESC
Tours and ESC Poitiers has created one of France's largest management
schools on two distinct campuses. ESCEM is keen to strengthen its
international relations and to reinforce the international aspects of its
academic programme. We regularly look for visiting professors to teach in
different courses in the Ecole Superieure de Commerce program.
Currently, we are working on a project to launch a series of classes in
English for our 2nd year students (final-year undergraduate level). The
classes will take place over a two-week period, from January 24th to
February 4th 2000. We are specially interested in English-speaking
professors residing in France or Europe.
The subjects that we would like to open include MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, HUMAN
RESOURCES, ACCOUNTING and FINANCE. The courses will come at the end of the
students' 18-month core course meaning that all students have background
knowledge in these areas and our aim is to offer an introduction to these
specialisation in English. Each class will be made up of 4 three-hour
sessions and will be taught to two different groups (24 taught hours) over
the two-week period.
All classes will take place on the Tours campus, situated in the heart of
the Loire valley. Rich with history and a well preserved heritage, Tours,
the capital of the Touraine region is traditionally a centre for excursions
into the chbteaux country but has many attractions of its own. The TGV
high-speed train puts Tours at only 55 minutes from the centre of Paris and
allows direct connections to all the major airports.
ESCEM offers a comprehensive package to faculty wishing to teach in this
program: accommodation, travel expenses plus salary.
If you or any of your colleagues would be interested in teaching at ESCEM,
Tours campus at these dates, please contact Dr. Patrice HOUDAYER for further
details. mailto:
phoudayer@escem.fr .
We are also interested in creating a database of professors interested in
teaching at ESCEM, with opportunities for semester or even year-long
appointments.
