Charlie Wankel, the MG-ED-DV listmaster, has invited me to
post information about my recently published Organizational
Behavior text. The title is Organizational Behavior:
Essential Tenets for a New Millennium. The publisher is
SouthWestern College Publishing. You can view the book at
its website:
http://www.swcollege.com/BookTour/2000/champoux_tour.html
You can request an examination copy at the website or
through your SouthWestern representative.
The book will work well with casebooks, experiential
exercises, and videocases. The instructor's manual includes
references to recommended cases and experiential exercises
from other publications in SouthWestern's line.
The instructor's manual also includes the unusual feature of
descriptions and analyses of recommended movie scenes for
each chapter. Please see my "Film as a Teaching Resource"
in the June 1999 issue of the Journal of Management Inquiry
for more information on teaching with film. I will send a
reprint of the article at your request. See below for a
site with more information about teaching with film.
The book's website will also have complete Powerpoint slides
for each chapter by mid-August.
If you adopt the book, I hope you contact me to discuss how you use it and
various ideas for additions you might have. I would enjoy being an
e-guest to your class if you are into using information technology.
If you are in Chicago at the Academy of Management Meeting,
stop by the South-Western booth to see the book. I also
will gladly meet with you to discuss the book and its
support materials.
