Radford University
The Radford University Department of Management and Marketing
seeks applications for two faculty positions beginning in August, 2000.
Rank is at the Assistant Professor level. For the first position, an
earned doctorate in Strategic Management is required for appointment.
Secondary fields include research methods and international
management. The second position (subject to final authorization)
requires an earned doctorate in Human Resource Management/Behavioral
Management with a secondary field in social issues.
Qualifications include a strong emphasis in both undergraduate and
graduate teaching; demonstrated research and publication within primary
and supporting fields; and a capacity to support efforts to internationalize
the curriculum.
Radford University is a co-educational, comprehensive, state supported
institution with an emphasis on teaching. It is located in scenic
southwestern
Virginia, 40 miles from Roanoke, with an enrollment of approximately 8,500
students. The College of Business and Economics is accredited by AACSB in
both the undergraduate and graduate level (MBA). The Department of
Management and Marketing offers the BBA with majors in both management
and marketing and is comprised of 13 full-time faculty members. Faculty
hold degrees from a wide cross-section of institutions including Alabama,
Arkansas, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and
Virginia Tech.
Two department representatives will be in Chicago interviewing candidates
at the Academy of Management meeting in August. Applications received
prior to October 1, 1999 will be given preference; however, applications will
be considered until both positions are filled. As soon as possible qualified
