Dick Montgomery asks:
>Fred,
>Do you have any information on your site about the basic business skills
>every good consultant should hold? I am seeking to help a client find the
>need for a series of basic programs used for giving new consultants these
>skills.
There is a consulting section on my site and it has several good articles
by Harvey Bergholz, a long-time friend and associate. A few years back, he
and I developed a basic consulting skills training for new-hires at one of
the world's largest accounting/consulting firms. This was a coached,
self-study package (with principals as the coaches) and it covered topics
like problem solving, consulting skills, time management, engagement
management, the economics of a consulting firm and so on.
If you have the time, I encourage you to read all Harvey's articles,
starting with The Consultant as Equilateralist.
