Several of my students have been inquiring into the most "popular"
instruments for diagnosing/measuring/quantifying aspects of
organisational culture, organisational climate, and organisational
values. I'd like to get a feel for the degree of consensus that members
of this listserv have on the off-the-shelf instruments that purport to
measure such variables.
Although many such instruments have been developed, has there emerged an
acknowledgement amongst practitioners and academics that instrument "A"
is (at present) the most appropriate measure of culture and/or climate?
I have noticed several posts from practitioners requesting the name of a
suitable "culture" or "climate" instrument, but have not been able to
discern a common response as yet. Can we begin to determine what are the
most common instruments in use, their strengths and weaknesses, and
whether studies have been published examining the relative contribution
such instruments make to diagnosing organisational culture and climate?
