Re: Journal of Leadership Studies Special Issue
    Date: May 15, 2002

    Dear Colleague:

We are co-editing four special issues of the Journal of Leadership and
Organizational Studies (formerly the Journal of Leadership Studies),
    made
possible with the generous sponsorship of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
    The
first of the four issues was on the theme of Leadership in Higher
    Education.
The theme of our 2003 special issue is Leadership in Diverse Societies.
    Our
goal is to disseminate the best ideas, scholarship/research, and
    practices
that serve as the foundation for leading in a diverse and multicultural
world. The publication date for the special issue on Leadership in a
    Diverse
Society is February of 2003. The deadline for receiving your completed
manuscript is August 1, 2002. A peer review process is used to evaluate
    submitted manuscripts.

Typically, each issue of the Journal publishes ten articles. We are
    sharing
this announcement with you in the open call for manuscripts to fill five
    of
the ten spaces. The intent is to offer an exceptionally strong
    publication,
with submissions that are on the cutting edge of theory, research, and
practice, with considerable representation from major scholars and
    leaders
on the topic of diversity, which includes, but is not limited to,
    gender,
ethnic, and cultural perspectives. Please find attached a copy of the
    manuscript submission guidelines.

The Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies publishes articles
which deal with all aspects of leadership - scholarship, education, and
development. It has a broad readership of practitioners and scholars in
    such
areas as business, education, government, and non-profit leadership.
Attached is an announcement of the newly appointed general editors of
    the
Journal. The current subscription level exceeds 2,000. If you have any
questions about submission for the Leadership in Diverse Societies
    issue,
please contact Dr. Nance Lucas by email at NLUCAS@academy.umd.edu.
    General
questions about the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies can
    be
directed to Dr. Julia Teahen at: Julia@Baker.edu.
