This was not a hoax. It was sound advice.
You do have to roll the date over by hand on both Windows95 and 98. It can
be done in the BIOS setup or it can be done through the control panel which
automatically updates the bios.
We rolled one computer over six weeks ago which gave us plenty of time to
evaluate the software. All the commercial software companies had
instructions for their software fixes on their Internet sites.
The bigger problem is software. Each piece has to be tested on its own
merits, which gets tedious.
