  • 1.  Making the digests easier to read

This list is unusually hard to read in digest form. All the other lists I
have subscribed to (OBTS-L, for example) have a divider between messages in
a digest that make it easy to tell when one message begins another ends. The
divider after message number one on a typical digest looks like this:

    >
    >-----------------------------
    >

    >Date: Thu, 28 Oct 1999 14:55:00 -0500
    >From: etc.

This list looks like it uses the standard list program (LISTSERVE). Does
anyone know how the list coordinator might institute that feature on the
digest mode? It would make the digests immensely more readable.

    Yours for continuous improvement,

It would also be nice to have links from the table of contents of the digest
to each contribution. Searching through can be problematic. Anyone know of a
    way to do this?

It's only a work-around, but I use the "find" feature of my email browser to
locate text strings specific to the subject I wish to review. When it comes
time to move to the next relevant article I just hit "find next" (without
having to retype the string) and arrive at the next article.

It ain't perfect, but it's way better than scolling through the entire digest
    page. Hope this helps.

P.S. Links would be awesome - so would a digest sorted by subject or "thread".

Thanks Brent. I have been just using find for keywords. It seems that some
smart listserv habitue' would have figured something out. You can link out
of the document (e.g., to e-mail and websites), but not to articles within
    it!
