  • 1.  What to do when the url is broken

    Hi Linda at Cornell,

Nowadays urls are too long. They break and lead to people
to click on only the first part. You should copy and paste the
truncated end of the url back on in your browser url window and then
click to info-heaven. Given that I just found this link minutes ago, I
    know it's working kid.

Actually, the problem is that the link is to a search result in a
    password
    protected (login required) site.

The initial link failed, so I started working my way back in the url to
    find
the source of the link and if I could get into the general site and then
    to
the specific link. When I finally got to a site, it required a
    password.
Here is the final error code for the London School of Business.

"You have failed to gain access to an LBS password protected website.
    You
may have entered your username and password incorrectly or in the wrong
    format. "

For future reference to all. Search result hyperlinks are generally
    time
sensitive and specific to the log on of the user getting the results.
Rather than sending the link of the results of the search, send the link
    to
the accessible site and the instructions for the search that will
    produce
    the same result.

    Conna
ok, so I am also an IT type.

I did not use any password though it is possible I have cookie that
expedited things. Did anyone just get into the site without passwords
    etc.?

Pasting on the end of the url worked for Linda in this case.
