The following message was sent to me by Robert Bacal. I am really frustrated
and angered by this reaction and the words used at me. What is the
    appropriate action of the group?

Randall, clearly you do NOT understand the implications and
associated issues, and quite frankly, I don't have the time for
ignorant pissants who have never run a list, and have no sense of
the damage large attachments can do.

Get your head out of your ass, and go learn a few things about the
    internet.

Thanks for informing this list of the rude message you received from Bacal.
Charlie Wankel, our list manager, is probably the appropriate person to
address rude and insulting remarks like his if it occurs on the list. Off
list, while unfortunate, not much can be done about it. I'm sorry to hear
that anyone on our list chooses to say such rude and insulting things to
others. Whatever Bacal's problem is, it clearly runs much deeper than
anything you had to say in your initial message.

This is getting out of hand. Opinions were stated, people got offended, lick your wounds and let's move on.

I just joined this listserv but I see that this is not the kind of mature
conversation I intended. What really surprises me is that you all have this much
time to concern yourselves with such small issues.???
Could someone let me know how to unsubscribe to this list?

This is directed to both you and Randall. I posted privately to
Randall specifically because there is no purpose in spending
hundreds of messages debating the attachment points. Charles
has been clear on this in the past; it is discourteous to send things
to a thousand people and clog up mailboxes.

There is another point of ettiquette that clearly you and Randall
don't understand and that is that one NEVER passes on private
email to public forums without permission. One of the reasons is
that it then creates more wasted space, angers other people who
then subscribe, and ruins the public discussions for everyone.

You guys can argue amonst yourselves until the cows come home.
I responded to Randall privately, and won't dignify him publicly.

If you want to discuss private communications in public that's your
option. Frankly, I think those of us on this list to discuss
management education probably don't have a driving need to know
what is said privately, but if you and Randall want to clog things up,
    fine with me.

If you guys have a beef with me, send it privately, and spare the
other good folks on this list the nuisance of hearing your private
    indignation.

    Randall,
Hi. I don't know how long you've been an addressee to this (and
other) lists but it probably won't come as a surprise that this
is a typical response from Robert. In the main we either ignore
it or email each other privately so as to not attract the often
exasperating debates about pedantic nuances of the English
language or what is happening in the real world. Unfortunately I
deleted your earlier email but I think it contained the comments
'just carry on', or something similar, and it reminded me of a
saying we used to have in Vietnam - "It doesn't mean a thing so
just say [stuff] it and drive on".

Maybe the world would be a far better place if we stopped getting
off the bus to sniff at roses that too often have an angry bee
nestled in their petals. The rose may be pretty but there are far
    prettier gardens up ahead.
