Gosh, I just thought it was an interestingly worded request for
volunteers to do the blind paper reviews that are done every
year before the annual meeting. :) I do them for the other
division I belong to, and the phrasing of their request on their
listserv isn't anywhere near as fun as this one was. :)

Steve - I try not to reply too much, but I couldn't resist this. The
original post was sent by our wonderful netmaster; and comes from the
division chair. Look at who sends something - it helps me evaluate its
credibility.
Moreover, the concept fits within the current vogue for "assessment" of
our efforts. We're supposed to assess the outcomes of our educaitonal
efforts; and I'm sure the Academy charges its divisions to assess what
they do. Some of it does sound to good to be true, but that's the effrot
to make such efforts seem attractive to those of us who might volunteer to
help out. By the way, Robert, put me down, tentatively, depending on how
long I find I'm able to stay at the Academy. And thank the whoel division
for co-sponsoring the case Critique Colloquium at the Academy. More
later!
