    Hello Prof. Champoux -

I have an idea for a symposia that might fit your
    request.

For the past few years I have used a combination
of storytelling, video, photos, and audio clips in a
PowerPoint multimedia presentation for the class
on leadership in the Intro. to Management course.

The lecture for that day revolves around the story
of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his incredible journey
to Antarctica in 1914-1916. If you are not familiar with
Shackleton and his trip on the Endurance, the story is
one of inconceivable hardships, unimaginable survival,
and extraordinary leadership. Shackleton and his crew
of 31 men survive two Antarctic winters wandering in
the ice shelf of the Weddell Sea. Shackleton, in
an effort to save the lives of his crew, also manages
to complete what is considered to be the most amazing
feat of sailing ever accomplished by sailing 800 miles
across the Antarctic Ocean in the middle of the winter
    in a small lifeboat.

While telling this story, I interweave video clips,
photos of the journey, and audio clips from Shackleton's
book. I use this story by examining how Shackleton and
his adventure illuminate and illustrate the various
leadership theories presented in the OB textbook.

If that sound like it would fit within your invitation,
could you let me know what information you would
need for a complete symposia idea.
