    OBTS ADMINISTRATOR WANTED

     

    The OBTS Teaching Society for Management Educators seeks a highly organized and detailed-oriented individual for a paid part-time position as OBTS Administrator. The ideal candidate is able to work independently with minimal supervision, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and has experience in an academic environment and with web-based management systems.

     

    Principal responsibilities of the OBTS Administrator include:

     

    • Maintaining the Society's membership database
    • Providing information and support to members and suppliers with respect to membership issues
    • Facilitating electronic distribution of Society materials (Calls for Papers, announcements of activities, etc.)
    • Serving as a central receiving point for materials submitted to the Society in response to Board requests
    • Maintaining the software management system for Society activities (conferences, workshops, etc.)
    • Managing the Board's calendar of projects and deadlines
    • Providing coordination and follow-up for Board projects

     

    In addition to these ongoing responsibilities, the Administrator is expected to attend two 2-day Board meetings (June, Oct/Nov) at the Society's expense.

     

    The Administrator is a part-time non-benefitted position reporting to the OBTS President. In addition, this individual interfaces with the OBTS Executive Committee and other members of the Board of Directors as well as the Society's membership, suppliers, and alliance partners. The successful candidate will receive paid training on the OBTS software management system. Some familiarity with academic associations is highly desirable.

     

    Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, experience working with confidential data, customer service experience or similar.

     

    Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years experience in an academic environment, one or more years database management experience.

     

    Interested individuals may submit their resume and statement of interest to president@obts.org. Review of applications will begin January 15, 2010 and continue until the position is filled.
