Several members asked me to post a compilation of responses to my request for a case that requires students to conduct valuation of HR/OB costs and benefits. I'm including the responses below.
I have taught this material in MBA/MSOD program combining finance, economic, and HR theories. I would suggest you check out any of Jack and Patti Phillips books on this topic. www.roiinstitue.net. I have built an entire MS level class around their technique and they have 20+ years of practice and research in this arena (with real case studies).

I'm aware of a few case series that may or may not have all the data you'd need, but at least partial measures. The Peter Browning at Continental White Cap series (A-E) by Todd Jick is a good one. The Nueces Task Force A and B series at Darden also has some connections. The SBS-MCI merger case series at Darden also. (3-5 cases). And I think there is a great case coming out in NACRA on a Slovakian Pharmacy chain that's expanding that also has some good data. Debbie Ettington editor at NACRA can advise on the publishing date on that one. The Marsha Harris case series at Darden also addresses this. https://store.darden.virginia.edu/ I hope these help. Please let us know when you do your study.
Best wishes,
Jim

Not sure this would work for you but take a look at the "Profit Maximization and Layoffs" case in the Giving Voice TO Values collection (www.GivingVoiceToValues.org). If you are interested let me know at Mgentile3@babson.edu, I can send you the faculty-only link to teaching notes.
Cheers.

Hi Phani:
Consider 'Moneyball' by Michael Lewis. The use of sabermetrics for recruitment and selection should appeal to your cohort.

Hi:
I use a SHRM case with my Strategic Human Resources Planning course and Cascio's Costing Human Resources book - as it has all the metrics they will need. I have attached the ch1 and ch2 in case you aren't familiar with the book.
Best,
Ronda

I use the CEMEX case in a course on Multinational Management, and have found their 3-part framework useful for mergers and acquisitions, which they do a lot :)
See if you find it of value.
CEMEX Acquisition Framework
1.Opportunity Identification
•Large population, High population growth, Current low consumption, Control at least 25% of market
•Quantitative (65%) + Qualitative (35%)
•Regional market
•Analyze market (top-down)
•Analyze target firm (bottom-up)
•Analyze restructuring potential (market + firm)
2.Due Diligence
3.Post-Merger Integration (PMI)
