Seeking Collaborators for a book

    Colleagues,

I am in the process of beginning to write an eclectic book possibly to be titled "Post-Graduate Teaching Training" with the hope to provide a reference book of sorts to aid doctoral level educators and provide insights into the world of adult education encompassing effective instructional design, adult education learning and instructional theories, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of the course.

The book revolves around ensuring teaching doctoral competencies such as scholar-practitioner, critical thinker, researcher, and  professional communicator. The reason to write the book is that, in my experience, the fact of having earned a doctoral degree does not guarantee the individual will be a good educator. As an example, I teach at a School of Optometry, and as a professional degree, Optometrists are wired to focus on the technical aspects of their profession without regards for pedagogical considerations. Thus, I have been asked to prepare material to help their professors become scholars and professional educators rather than an Optometrist that presents material.

With this, I see an opportunity to not only help Optometrist educators, but other industries and professions as well, including ours in Management Education. I will be happy to provide a draft of the Table of Content I have crafted with the open mind to accept criticism, recommendations, etc.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!
