Chair, Management & Labor Department (Search Extended)
Department Description: The Management and Labor Relations Department at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Cleveland</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">State</st1:placetype> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place> consists of full and part-time faculty with broad interests in research and teaching areas, including human resource management, labor relations, health care administration, entrepreneurship, business strategy, international management and organizational behavior. In addition to the traditional MBA, the department also offers a specialized masters degree in labor relations and human resources, and an MBA with a concentration in health care administration.
Chair Duties: The Chair is responsible for leadership in the Department and shall have general administrative responsibility for the department's programs and budget. The Chair will promote department morale, quality teaching, research, and scholarship, as well as University, community, and professional service. In addition, the Chair is responsible for teaching up to 12 credit hours over the course of the year.
Terms of Office: The Chair position is a 12-month appointment. Initial appointment is a four-year term with the possibility of a three-year reappointment. Salary is AACSB competitive.
Minimum Qualifications: Terminal degree in Management or a related field; eligibility for appointment and tenure at the rank of associate or full professor; record of recent and continuing scholarship in a management-related field; evidence of successful teaching, communication skills, leadership, and an ability to work with stakeholders on and off campus.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of scholarly accomplishments in a management related field; demonstrated record of enhancing graduate and undergraduate education; experience in administrative, financial, and faculty governance; demonstrated ability to foster positive partnerships on campus and in the community; experience with AACSB accreditation; administrative experience at an urban university; leadership in professional organizations.
