Join us for a lively, interactive teaching workshop, Discussing the Undiscussables, on Saturday, Aug 13 from 12:30PM - 2:30PM in Marriott Rivercenter, Salon C. This pdw focuses on the challenges management educators and students face in addressing sensitive topics in the classroom.

East meets West is an excellent metaphor for the melding of subgroups in our global business world, and with that melding comes the importance of being aware of differences among all types of subgroups. Raising awareness of these differences and biases and stereotypes, and teaching our students how to effectively manage people of all backgrounds, is a critical step in the management education process. Sometimes, however, we might be hesitant to surface certain topics due to our own discomfort or unfamiliarity, or even our perceived lack of credibility. This workshop will allow us to get it all out on the table and work collaboratively to find ways to enlighten and transcend ourselves and our students. We look forward to your input during the session, so please bring your examples from the classroom when you have been faced with .....Discussing the Undiscussables! Please email Kim Gower at kgower@vsu.edu with any questions. (Sponsored by TTC, GDO, OB)
