Mid Sweden University and Billund kommune (Capital of Children and LEGO®) on behalf of ELSIN would like to invite you to attend the 18th Annual International Conference of the Education, Learning, Styles & Individual differences Network. This cross-disciplinary conference is an international forum for the exchange of knowledge on theory, research and practice in the field of styles, learning and individual differences.

Conference theme
This conference is for anyone interested in their own learning and that of others in schools, higher education and workplace environments. We are specifically interested in innovative approaches to learning and e-learning; leading learning with organizations; approaches to individualizing learning; awareness of motivational and affective dimensions of learning; use of learning styles in classrooms and learning through play. The major theme of the conference is thus Building Learning Capacity for Life. ELSIN 2013 especially welcomes submissions that focus on one of the following key issues:
· Innovative approaches to learning
· Innovations to support lifelong learning
· Building the bridge to learning for life
· Playing for Life (learning)
· Activating learning throughout life e.g. through play
· Awareness of individual differences
· Motivational strategies
· Good practice: putting style research into practice
· Entrepreneurship and styles
Keynote speakers are as follows:
· Professor Jan Vermunt, University of Cambridge. Focus on Learning patterns
· Associate professor Anders Olofsson, Mid Sweden University. Focus on what and how in entrepreneurship education
· Associate Professor Carol Evans, University of Exeter. Focus on developing effective pedagogy with a focus on a personal learning styles pedagogy in curriculum development including assessment
· Associate Professor Hans Henrik Knoop, Aarhus University. Focus on using positive psychology as a general foundation for understanding and practicing strengths-based learning.
Conference formats
Contributions to the conference can be empirical, theoretical/conceptual or practice-oriented, but all should be conceptually, theoretically and methodologically sound. Special attention should be paid to the relevance and value of submissions for research on learning and individual differences in education or business. ELSIN especially welcomes contributions from practitioners and new researchers in the field of styles.
Proposals can be submitted for contributions in the following formats:
· Paper presentation
· Symposium
· 'Talk and tell' poster-sessions
· Good practice
Publication
Full papers can be submitted for publication in a special edition of Reflecting Education Journal
