    Fellow MEDers

Debbie Comer (of Hofstra University) and I are investigating requests by students for special treatment from their instructors. We define special treatment as an opportunity that a student seeks that is not offered generally to the student's classmates-e.g., the opportunity to submit an assignment late, to retake a test, to do extra work to improve a low mark/grade, to work alone on a group project, etc. (Please note that we are NOT referring to reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, such as providing extra time on tests, note-taking assistance, front-row seating, etc.)

We have designed a very brief survey, which we are distributing to business school faculty at several universities. We would greatly appreciate your taking the survey, which you can complete in just a few minutes. All responses are anonymous. Please copy and paste this URL into your internet browser: https://uribus.qualtrics.com/WRQualtricsSurveyEngine/?SID=SV_eVhXwbI9o7lL0mV&_=1.

There is no time like the present, so please take the survey now!

Additionally, we would greatly appreciate your forwarding this email to colleagues at your university and encouraging them to take the survey.

With many thanks and good wishes,

    Betsy Cooper
