Professional Development Workshop Not to Miss
Infusing Vitality: Using Positive Organizational Scholarship in Teaching OB/OT and Management Topics
JOIN us on Saturday August 10, from 8-10 in WDW Dolphin Resort in Salon II. Last year we had a substantial waiting list. You must pre-register by JULY 28 so you can pick your roundtables of interest! (100 person limit)
Organized by Jane Dutton and Marc Lavine (co-sponsored by OB, OMT, MOC, ODC and MED)
This workshop is designed to unleash insight and to foster sharing of how to teach topics in organizational behavior and organizational theory using a Positive Organizational Scholarship approach. It is inspired by the belief that the use of a POS lens in the classroom has been a revitalizing force in management education and that discussion and exchange of these practices can impart a sense of vitality and inspiration for management educators and promote positive innovation for management learners. The workshop uses a roundtable design to give attendees maximal choice in selecting 4 of 14 roundtables to attend during the two-hour workshop. The roundtables showcase innovative means of teaching which are accessed by using a Positive Organizational Scholarship perspective (Cameron & Spreitzer, 2012; Cameron, Dutton & Quinn, 2003) and are incorporated in teaching to make a difference across a range of topics. Sample topics include: Redesigning Work: The Job Crafting Exercise, Teaching POS across Cultures, Relational Coordination in Healthcare, Teaching about Highly Effective Teams Through In-Class Service. The roundtable leaders will share materials and impact to facilitate ease of use for attendees. Roundtable leaders include Gene Beyt, David Bright, Shelley Brickson, Mary Crossan,Jane Dutton, Spencer Harrison, Shirli Kopelman ,Marc Lavine, Katty Marmenout, Dana McDaniel, Robert Quinn, Christopher Roussin, Scott Sonenshein, and Amy Wrzesniewski
