Senior faculty refresh:
Renewing self and career by identifying and engaging in what is meaningful
Sunday, August 7, from 12:45-3:15pm
Platinum Ballroom 1, Anaheim Marriott.
Have you spent the last 10, 15, 20 or more years teaching the same courses, attending meandering meetings, slaving away at the publication race? Feel like you might've lost your spark? If so, you're not alone. Presenters in this session have dipped their toes-some even cliff dove-into waters previously unknown and in so doing, reignited their spark. Whether writing mystery novels, doing stand-up comedy, performing in orchestras, or teaching in far-flung corners of the earth, they've found ways to renew and refresh themselves and their careers by engaging their curiosity-listening to their inner voice-and exploring unknown, exciting, soul-affirming journeys (even without a sabbatical!).
This All-Academy PDW-featuring passionate presenters and facilitated by an executive coach and life strategist-utilizes individual and small group activities to help faculty who:
- are having a hard time hearing the inner voice,
- have been marching to an outdated drumbeat, or
- are afraid that their professor persona may not align with their inner voice
