    Greetings!

I am looking for a list system or software that would allow me to send
clippings, ideas, cases, references, etc. to my students over the Web. I
need a system/software that is easy to use (I am
    electronically-challenged)
and free of cost. Any suggestions?

I would also like to hear experiences from colleagues who are using this
type of system to communicate with their students. If you choose to
    answer
me personally, I will gladly synthesize the results and send them to
    this
    list in one single message.

    Thanks

Subject: Re: suggestions and experiences re. list system/software

for classes of 10 to 20 students, I have found that a regular email
list, using Netscape 4.72, works very well. I usually use BCC to
supress the long list of names, however, I also see to it that the
students have the opportunity to set up their own list.

this has the advantage that it is (a) financially free, and (b) simple
    to set up and use.

It has the disadvantage that (a) group level communication is
cumbersome - everything has to go through me if the student doesn't
have an up to date list.

However, I have had difficulty arranging for the School's web meister
to set up a news group for a class, so this works, and quickly.
