Hello all-
[Please excuse the cross posting]
On behalf of the Aspen Institute's Business and Society Program, I'm very glad to announce the following resources and opportunities. Please feel free to forward this email to friends and colleagues. If I can answer any questions about these, or any other Aspen Institute program, please do not hesitate to contact me.
All resources and opportunities relate to our efforts to make sure that future business leaders are trained to effectively manage the social and environmental complexities of modern business.
1. Online workshop on the 2005 Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey data
On Wednesday, April 5th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm EST, we will host an informal workshop designed to introduce users to the online database at www.BeyondGreyPinstripes.org. The database includes information on 1,672 courses, 1,730 extracurricular activities, and 216 research articles from 128 schools on six continents. Additionally nearly 300 complete syllabi are available for free download. The workshop will:
- Briefly review the 2005 survey questionnaire and ranking methodology;
- Offer summary statistics;
- Demonstrate how faculty and administrators can use the data to benchmark a school, department, or individual course or to download free course syllabi.
Due to technological limitations, registration space is extremely limited. Please RSVP to Rich.Leimsider@aspeninstitute.org by Friday March 17. You will receive a confirmation with complete details.
2. New Briefing Paper Series: A Closer Look at Business Education
The Aspen Institute is conducting a series of examinations into how, and whether, business schools are managing various social and environmental issues throughout their program. Topics since the launch have included China, Career Services, and Women and MBAs. The response from business school deans, faculty, reporters, and corporate partners has been extremely positive, and the work has been mentioned in e-newsletters reaching tens of thousands of people.
