I have a doctoral student who is writing about the changes and developemnt
of a professional management association. Apart from one or two key
authors, there seems to be a lack of academic literature in this area with
sparse mention on the usual sites. Has anyone encountered any useful
    articles?

    Any help gratefully received!

Dear Lynn, see Tom Lawrence's work on the emergence of Forensic Accounting
profession. Also, in general the folks (Royston Greenwoood, Bob Hinings,
etc) at U Alberta are studying sport associations in Canada. You may find
their work very useful. I would contact them directly.
