You are invited to join the "MED Virtual Camp," a year-round learning
community dedicated to helping Academy members contribute to the
scholarship of management education and development by honing their
skills as submitters, reviewers, session chairs, discussants,
    facilitators and presenters.

The Virtual Camp is being supported by the Academy, as one of its 2002
Strategic Initiatives, and by the Academy's Teaching and Ethics
    Committees.

You are invited to contribute and use Virtual Camp Online Resources, and
to participate in our Interactive Spaces!

    Online resources

    * Articles, essays, references or links about: a) scholarship of
teaching (types of contribution, examples of classic contributions, what
constitutes excellence, the fallacy of the teaching vs. research
dichotomy, etc.); b) the art and science of reviewing (examples of
helpful and not-so-helpful reviews, do's and don'ts of reviewing, advice
from expert reviewers); c) how to excel in Academy sessions (the roles
of Session Chair, Discussant, Presenter); d) the scholarly process
(going from idea, research or experience to presentation at the Academy,
and from there to publication in a journal).

    * Examples of contributions that have received MED awards (Best Papers,
Best Symposia, etc.), information on the nuts and bolts of submitting to
the Academy (format for submissions, FAQs, etc.), links to major outlets
for scholarly contributions in management education and development

    Interactive Spaces

    * "Roundtables" around topics emerging from the Online Resources;

    * "Book of the Month Club" for discussion of books on the scholarship
    of teaching and learning

    * Conversations with top authors, reviewers, editors and Virtual Camp
