Texas Tech will have a position for a Visiting Professor for the
2002-2003
academic year. The candidate will teach our Executive Skills class
(three
sections fall, M & W; and one section spring). This is a core MBA class
and we have developed all of the teaching materials for the class. The
class is skills, as opposed to cognitive, based. It covers
communication,
decision making, interviewing & PA assessment and feedback, team
building,
self assessment, etc. Both micro and macro faculty teach this class so
this position is open to all candidates regardless of research interest.
However, the applicate must have a Ph.D. by August 1. No exceptions.
We offer a competitive salary, low cost of living, collegial colleagues,
travel and secretarial support. This position is ideal for someone on
sabbatical or a Ph.D. student, who was off cycle in August, but who will
be
finished with their dissertation this summer.
The Area of Management consists of 14 faculty and six lecturers. The
area
is home to 3 university recognized research centers: Center for
Strategic
Health Care Management; Center for Innovation and change; Center for
Entrepreneurship. In addition, it includes the Institute for Leadership
Research and the Institute for Family Business. Jerry Hunt is the
current
Editor of Leadership Quarterly and Kim Boal, Co-Edits JMI with Paul
Hirsch
(Northwestern).
Texas Tech is a major research university (25,000 students) located in
Lubbock, Texas (200,000 pop), and the Area of Management offers the
following degrees: BS, Honors in Management BS (the only one in the
University); 150 MBA; MBA, Executive (Physican only) MBA; MD/MBA, and
Ph.D.
