I have to second this! I tried a free trial subscription to one of the
on-line plagiarism-detection services, and in four of five papers that I
tried, google found at least two (and in one case, NINE!) web sites that
    the
commercial service missed! (I contacted the commercial service about
    this,
and they replied that they are updating their web crawler and should
    have a
much more thorough/efficient one in place by mid-July... in the
    meantime,
    I'm using Google!)

Exactly how do you do this with Google? Do you paste an entire paper
    into the search window??? Thanks.

If you find one phrase match then you can inspect the rest of the
    paper...
Do use " ... " to enclose the phrase to narrow the search.

    Cordially,
