Learning can be fun or so my classes tell me that have played
business/management simulations in my classes. Saturday August 10th at 12
noon come to Convention Center A 109 and learn about games and how through
your own creativity you can make the learning experince more interesting. The
workshop explores the problem of concept learning by students. Students have a
basic lack of understanding of how concepts work. We as educators spend time
with definitions, lectures and case studies but unless our students have a
frame of reference in which to apply concepts, students do not fully
understand the application of the material. Business games that are
specifically designed to give students a frame of reference appear to address
some of the issues of concept acquisition.
Come join me on Saturday afternoon. I will
explain the process of the game and how to use it in a classroon setting. I
will also discuss a recent study comparing the use of games vs. lecture and
European and American College students as well hearing from all of you if you
have had similar experinces. Come join us. See you in Denver...
