This session focuses specifically on alternative methodologies for teaching
organization change. We conducted ODC's first PDW focused on teaching
organization change and development at last year's Academy of Management
conference in Washington, DC. That session was well attended and generated a
high degree of enthusiasm. It also led attendees to ask that another session
be included at Denver, with considerable interest expressed in some
"hands-on" experiences with classroom techniques. The content of this PDW is
designed to provide such experiences. In last year's session, panelists
shared syllabi, discussed preferences for textbooks, and described their
usage of cases, exercises, assignments and projects. This year's session is
aimed at complementing the first PDW by having presenters demonstrate their
techniques by involving attendees in classroom activities including a
computer simulation, event-based learning, large group processing, and
disaster analysis.
Also, if you have been teaching a course in organizational change or have
exercises, etc. that you'd like to share please email a copy of the
syllabus, exercise, etc. to Eric Goodman(<mailto:

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me...
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Thanks,
Eric
