The Business Administration Program of the University of Washington,
Bothell (UWB) invites applications for an opening at the Lecturer or
Senior Lecture or Assistant Professor level in Organizational
Communication. This appointment will become effective in the fall of
2003
subject to available funding.
The successful lecturer candidate will be expected to teach a variety of
courses in the area of organizational communication, and will be
instrumental in integrating writing throughout the curriculum. The
successful assistant professor candidate will be expected to teach a
variety of courses in organizational communication, conduct research,
and
help to integrate writing throughout the curriculum. Candidates should
hold a Ph.D. degree in organizational communication or in a closely
related field (ABDs near completion will be considered).
Located approximately 20 miles northeast of Seattle in the Puget Sound
region's high technology corridor, the Bothell campus of the University
of
Washington first opened its doors in 1990. It is an upper-division and
graduate campus, serving both traditional and non-traditional students
in
a variety of innovative and interdisciplinary degree programs.
The undergraduate Business Administration Program was started in 1993
and
offers options in marketing, management, international environment,
technology & innovation management and finance. The program stresses
communications and critical thinking, and encourages students to take
appropriate arts & sciences and professional courses from other degree
programs. In 1998, UWB launched an MBA degree focused on management of
technology-oriented businesses.
The Business Administration Program currently has fifteen tenure-track
or
tenured faculty members who are excellent teachers and active scholars.
Their scholarly work has appeared in such leading publications as
Academy
of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic
Management
Journal, Journal of Marketing, Management Science, Organizational
Behavior
and Human Decision Processes, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative
Analysis, among others. They value interdisciplinary teaching and
scholarship.
