Dear Intellectual Capital Researchers:
The World Congress committee has completed reviewing the
abstracts submitted for the 6th World Congress on Intellectual
Capital and Innovation.
January 15-17, 2003
Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
http://worldcongress.mcmaster.ca
We received a record number of abstract submissions this
year and because of capacity constraints could not accept
every abstract submission.
You will find a list of accepted abstract submissions at the
following URL (only first author is listed):
http://worldcongress.mcmaster.ca/pdf/ICabstracts.pdf
Please notify us if there are any typos in your name (we
apologize ahead of time for this).
There were over 250 inquiries for abstract submissions this
year. There were a total of 133 abstracts that were
accepted. We anticipate selecting approximately 60
oral papers and 15 poster papers from the final full
paper submissions. This will yield the highest quality
papers for the conference.
Given the record number of abstracts submitted and
the limited space we have to accommodate presenters,
we are limiting the number of submissions from each
author to 1 oral and 1 poster. For those of you that
submitted 3 or more abstracts, please select only
2 full papers to submit in October (1 each for poster
and oral purposes).
Your next step is to complete the final paper and submit
it by the deadline on October 1, 2002. Please mark this
deadline on your calendars! Do not forget to send your
paper electronically to the following e-mail address:
worldcongress@mcmaster.ca
Your paper must conform to formatting guidelines or it will
NOT be reviewed. Please follow the instructions below:
o enclose one MS Word attachment file (please scan for viruses)
which contains the full paper itself
o please name this file "LASTNAME.doc" (use the last name
of the first author only), if you are submitting two papers please
name the files "LASTNAME1.doc" and "LASTNAME2.doc"
o in the full paper file, do not forget to include a cover sheet,
we must have the following information on file for each author
(author's full name, affiliation, title, full postal address, phone
number, fax number, e-mail, co-author's name/s and e-mail,
etc. and title of paper)
o include a full word count of the file on the cover sheet
(total file with exhibits, figures, references, etc. must
be < 6000 words), this should be on page 1 with your
personal affiliation information
o include an abstract of the paper on page 2 of the file
(< 100 words)
o include a biography for each author on page 2 of the
file (< 100 words each)
o start the actual text of the paper on page 3 of the
document
o paper must be written in English
o page setup must be 8.5" by 11", 1 inch margins, double
line spacing
o word count of total file including exhibits, references and
figures, etc. must be 6000 words maximum
o all papers must conform to Journal of Intellectual Capital
writing style (see guidelines and formatting instructions here):
http://www.emeraldinsight.com/journals/jic/notes.htm
o papers that do not confirm to JIC writing style (including
references) WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
All full paper submissions will be reviewed during the month
of October and notifications of acceptance will be sent by
November 1, 2002.
Registration and payment information for the conference
can be found on the website here (please note the payment
deadline):
http://worldcongress.mcmaster.ca/register.htm
For those delegates that have corporate affiliations, we
recommended that you review the sponsorship information
here:
http://worldcongress.mcmaster.ca/pdf/SponsorshipPkg.pdf
It is more economical for corporate delegates to participate
in sponsorship. For example, a Bronze Sponsorship level
costs $2,000 CAD whereas the industry delegate registration
fee is $1,200 USD. With the sponsorship, you also receive
space for advertisement, exhibiting, etc.
Congratulations to those who have made it to the next step.
This event is projected to be the best in history. We expect
to have over 500 delegates from over 30 countries attend.
We have been working very hard to secure a high-profile
list of featured speakers to complement the paper
presentations. The following have confirmed their
attendance:

We look forward to receiving your full papers. If you have
any questions at all, please feel free to contact the World
Congress office at Tel: (905) 525-9140 x23962. The
faculty and students at McMaster are very excited to
host you this January in what will surely be a world-class
event.
