The 39th Annual International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition
(ICBSC), the longest running business simulation competition, will
    feature
teams from several countries vying for top honors. Each team will run a
simulated business operating in Merica and either an Eastern European, a
Latin American or a Southeast Asian country. The competition is based
    upon
the 5th edition of The Business Policy Game: An International Strategy
    Simulation.

The remote phase of the competition begins in early February with teams
submitting ten weekly decisions via the Internet. All teams travel to
    San
Diego, California, for the intensive phase held during April 10-12.
    While
in San Diego, teams submit ten more decisions, make a formal
    presentation
to their Board of Directors, comprised of seasoned business executives,
    and
    attend a gala awards banquet.

The competition provides an opportunity to challenge and showcase your
    best
students. We invite you to field a team and join the competition.

I have been asked by Eleanor O'Higgins Eleanor.OHiggins@ucd.ie,
the International Themes Committee Director of the Academy of
Management, to develop a report on the ways that information
technologies are fostering international collaborations in research and
teaching in the discipline of management. I would appreciate your
sharing your experiences and ideas on this with us for this report. I
will be asking respondents to this inquiry about collaboration in
presenting the results with me in various venues and publications
including at the AOM meeting in Seattle in August 2003. Please use the
subject "IT and the internationalization of management" for your
responses which should be sent only directly to me at
wankelc@stjohns.edu rather than also posted to this list.
