Charles,
I find your approach helpful for those of us who do essay finals or
other extensive end-of-course reports.
It is that time of year, however, when I consider using the reciprocal
approach. Give the student who turns the paper in late a special bonus,
so that this teacher has yet another excuse to procrastinate in
commenting on and grading course papers.
Something here about setting life examples.
