Your spouse will cry if you don't take 'em somewhere this summer. Why not
disguise going to the premier international scholarly conference, the
Academy of Management meeting in New Orleans, as a vacation!
Steve Armstrong, the AOM's Management Education and Development Division
Program Chair is sitting on his computer waiting to get your submission. He
particularly like you but has been too shy to go to your home and talk you
into joining us all in "Nawlins".
Hey, take your Chevy to the levee!
What to do! What to do!
Don't panic! It is doable. (Though I suggest taking three glasses of wine
before reading about formats and schedules) at:
http://aom.pace.edu/med/2004programcall.html
That's the AOM MED call. Given the innovative and original things you've
been doing with your teaching, this is the place for you. If you have any
doubts contact Steve:
stevearmstrong@welton-lincoln.freeserve.co.uk
He's nice. Hey, after he accepts your paper or panel you'll think he is
more than nice!
I'm looking forward to having a jambalaya dinner listening to Dixieland with
you on a paddlewheel steamboat. If you check the program early enough
you'll find this or that AOM division sponsoring a party like that.
(Remember, Steve is in Euroland, at the University of Hull. If you are in
Europe he will work overtime to get your submission Euroland-perspective
reviewers etc. Hey I'm sure he wants mostly non-USAers!)
Cybercollegially,

Subject: ONE call for papers and symposia
Hello ONE folks:
I wanted to remind you of the deadline and procedures for the submission of
papers and symposia to the ONE program. I have already
started to receive papers for the 2004 ONE Program and look forward to many
more.
The deadline is Monday January 5 at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The
specification of the time as 5 p.m. is important as you must
submit the title and abstract of your paper to the Academy website to
receive a 5 digit submission number for me to be able to include
your paper/symposia as a submission. The AOM website will not accept
submissions after the time deadline.
All academy members should have received a copy of the submission guidelines
in the 2004 Meeting Call for Submissions mailing sent
out this this Fall. You can access an online copy of the 2004 Meetings Call
for Submissions at
http://meetings.aomonline.org/2004/guidelines.htm. The guidelines also
included detailed information about the conference theme of
"Creating Actionable Knowledge."
Even if you have submitted papers/symposia in the past please review the
guidelines as the procedures have been continually changing in
order to further automate the program development process. Basically there
are three steps to submitting:
1) submit your title and abstract to
http://submissions.aomonline.org/2004
and receive a 5 digit submission number
2) rename the file containing your paper/symposia using the submission
number that you received from the AOM submission website and
send it to me at
one2004aom@ithaca.edu
3) upload a copy of your paper to the AOM website making sure to remove any
identifying information (in the future this procedure will
enable reviewers to access papers directly from the Academy and in doing it
should simplify the distribution of papers for review)
This year we are using this dual submission system to test the procedure of
processing all transactions through the AOM website.
However, if the system has any glitches this year there is no back-up system
other than the copy of the paper/symposia that you email to
me.
Thanks, have a lovely holiday season.
