Visiting Assistant or Associate Professors in
Business & Society/Business Ethics and in
Human Resources Management
The Department of Organizational Studies at the University of New Mexico
invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professors or Visiting
Assistant Professors. The appointments begin no later than August 18, 2003
subject to budgetary approval. One successful candidate will be
responsible for teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in
the primary area of Business & Society/Business Ethics (JR# 5457). The
other successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the
graduate and undergraduate levels in Human Resources Management with
probable secondary area of Organizational Behavior & Diversity (JR# 5458).
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must hold: a) a Ph.D. or be near
completion of their doctoral studies in the specified field or a closely
related field by August 18, 2003; b) evidence or promise of a significant
program of research and scholarship.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
. Research interests including investigating academic questions that draw
upon a variety of paradigms and methodologies such as those found in
qualitative studies
. Evidence or potential for excellence in developing innovative learning
methods
. Evidence or potential for excellence in working with multicultural
constituencies
. Primary areas of emphasis in Business & Society/Business Ethics (JR#5457)
or Human Resources Management (JR#5458) with probable secondary area of
Organizational Behavior & Diversity.
The Anderson Schools are AACSB accredited. Management programs enroll
approximately 900 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. The
Schools emphasize collaborative student interaction, active adult learning,
team experiences, and scholarship that draw upon a variety of methodologies
and subject areas. New Mexico is an ethnically diverse state with a rich
cultural heritage.
Interested and qualified candidates must specify JR# and submit 1 original
and 2 copies of the following: 1) specification of primary and possible
secondary area of teaching competency, 2) a well-crafted and signed letter
stating interest in and qualifications for the position, 3) a current vita,
4) evidence of research and teaching effectiveness including sample
articles/publications and sample instructor evaluations, and 5) the contact
information of at least three references - including phone numbers, email
addresses, and mailing addresses. For best consideration, applications must
