The Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program sends scholars to 12 countries in
Europe and Canada for three to nine months. The 2004-05 competition has
opened and has a May 1 deadline. Lecturing is usually in English.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and have a prominent record of scholarly

IRELAND: NATIONAL COLLEGE OF IRELAND DISTINGUISHED CHAIR OF LEARNING AND
TEACHING: Chair will lead a new research program on learning and teaching at
the College. Broadly, the research will focus on understanding the learning
process and the implications for new technologies in instructional design.
It will encompass community-based learning and the role of new media in
delivery, technology-enabled learning and delivery, and learning styles. The
Chair will offer tutorials, seminars and mentoring for NCI faculty on
learning and teaching research, current state of the art research and
investigative methodologies, data assembly methods, data processing and
research management and planning. Desired specializations include education,
psychology, cognitive science with emphasis on community-based learning, the
role of new media in delivery, technology enabled learning and delivery,
learning styles. Applicant should have a distinguished research career with
high quality research publications in the required areas and previous high
level appointments in the field of education, psychology and cognitive
science. 5 to 9 months, beginning September 2004 for a nine-month grant
(preferred) or January 2005 for a five-month grant. NCI's mission is based
