    Dear Colleagues,

Someone at a conference recently asked weird questions
that I thought I'd ask one of the multi-field experts here to
    answer:

1 Is there anything resembling q futures market in the drug
trade? (... not pharmaceuticals, but the criminal drug traffic).

    2 Do drug prices fluctuate?

3 Is there a noticeable shift of supply and demand in the
    drug trade?

4 Have there been any notable shifts in different consumption
patterns or "drugs of choice" in different populations over
    the years?

    Best regards,

    Ken Friedman

The answer to all of the questions is yes.

The best expert in the field to direct them to is Patt McRae at
Muhlenburg College - her diss is required reading for DEA agents and
her specialty is the illegal drug cartels.

    Hope that helps.
