    Call for Papers

The 1st International Conference on Business and Management Research:
    Facing 21st Century Challenges

Sanur Paradise Hotel, Bali - Indonesia
    August 23-24, 2006

    Overview
New challenges will arise in the 21st century requiring innovative as well
as new breakthrough in management practices. Globalization process is
often considered as the main driving force forcing business to change,
adapt, as well as alter its management practices. However, other factors
such as shift from industrial to knowledge society may well affect
business in a profound way requiring different management paradigms.
Little is known how present management practices anticipate, define their
strategies, alternate their organizations, and adapt their management
concepts, to face changes in the 21st century. In addition, there is a
need to understand both what are the driving forces, their
characteristics, patterns and processes, as well as how they affect
    management and businesses.

This conference is an effort to provide an academic forum for researchers
engaged in basic and applied research, single as well as multi- and
inter-disciplinary studies, in the area of management and business fields
identifying the characteristics, processes, and possible impacts of the
drivers of change in the 21st century. What the drivers are and how they
may affect businesses, as well as how business will respond to these
drivers may bear different meanings for micro-and macro- researchers. In
spite of these, the different levels of research may provide a more
comprehensive and complete picture of what to anticipate in the 21st
century. Therefore, the organizer is seeking a broad range of academic
oriented papers and research works that will contribute to our
understanding of present and future change processes in the business
    communities.
