The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, is pleased to announce a high-power seminar on:

The incessant pace of globalization has created huge opportunities for business, as well as huge challenges and risks of doing business. The seminar on
Global Security and Enterprise Resilience
will explore the security implications of globalization for business and their impact on enterprise continuity, resilience, and competitiveness.
The purpose of the seminar is to help improve organizational capacity to respond to emergency, catastrophic, and disruptive challenges – whether natural, accidental, or deliberate. It will therefore provide insights into such critical issues as:

Global security, enterprise resilience, and competitiveness
§
Organizational defenses against security risks arising from terrorism, nuclear, biological, and other hazards
§
Security implications of engaging with emerging markets
§
Information and cyber security
§
Enterprise continuity and resilience
§
Security awareness, preparedness, data interoperability, and disaster management
§
Emergency management systems – post-terror disaster recovery, emergency response, and damage control
Seminar presenters
are senior scholars, senior executives, and thought leaders from the University of Maryland and business and government organizations.
